Overthinking Symptoms - How to deal with them!

Common Overthinking Symptoms and how to deal with them!

What is overthinking?

Overthinking is a bad habit that is difficult to break, but don't worry, there is always a chance to figure out the solution, but first you must be aware of whether you are overthinking or not. I'll go over some of the most common overthinking symptoms to help you understand them better.

Overthinking Symptoms and their cure:

Let's discuss about some of the most common overthinking symptoms and how to overcome them!

• You worry a lot

If you are someone who worries a lot about small things, for example, if your car key is lost, you will continue to worry about it even though you know it is somewhere in your house. It will, however, cause you concern. If this describes you, you are experiencing one of the most common overthinking symptoms.

How to cure it:

Remember that you are not perfect whenever you feel sad or overthink. This is usually because you believe you made a mistake that you shouldn't have made because you believe you are perfect. I know you don't think that way, but that's why you're overthinking in the first place, and why you worry so much about things. And you shouldn't because it's not always in your hands, it's not always about you because it's not your world, you didn't create it, you're a part of it, and humanity as a whole is flawed. You are one of them, so don't be concerned about your future.

For example, you didn't do well in your exams, now you are worried that result day will be the worst day of my life, but you actually don't know what If the teacher passes you? What if the luck is on your side, you don't really know that. So that's why you shouldn't really overthink in a negative way. Another thing is that most of the time, this happens to people who lack faith and thus lack hope. Even if it's a false hope that helps you be more optimistic, it's worth it. Even if a hope is false, it can be useful at times. So we should consider the utility of something rather than the truth or accuracy.

• Constantly recalling embarrassing events from the past

This is one of the overthinking symptoms if you constantly think about past mistakes. For example, you didn't do well in the meeting, and now you're still thinking about it and feeling embarrassed that this shouldn't have happened, or I wish I could have done better, these are all just thoughts caused by overthinking disorder; otherwise, you wouldn't have them.

How to cure it:

It's difficult for an overthinker to overcome embarrassment, especially bad memories from his past; it's difficult for him to forget them, and no matter how hard he tries, he fails to forget them, but that doesn't mean there's no hope; he can still get rid of it. He just needs to understand how the world works and how famous people became famous.

If we read about many famous people from around the world, we will discover that the majority of them made numerous mistakes, some of which were disastrous. But they have succeeded, and they are now more successful than we are. It's because they learned from their mistakes instead of lamenting them.

But overthinkers only cry about the bad things that have happened to them in the past, which makes them a different person. It renders them useless and unworthy of anything. As a result, they tend to lose their sense of purpose in life, which is exactly what leads to depression. Most of the time, overthinking is a doorway to depression, and depression is a doorway to suicide, and this is how it all works. So, never let all of life's social burdens and difficulties bring you down. You are stronger than that; learn from those who have faced similar challenges. Learn from them, and then try to overcome your tendency to overthink past mistakes. They're already gone; you don't need to think about them right now because they're gone. Consider your present. Because of your past mistakes, you are about to destroy your present. You should never do that.

• Trying to look for hidden meanings

People with overthinking symptoms try to find hidden meanings in others, which can be anything their words, actions, etc. It's not always true that what you're thinking of someone is exactly true because you can't read people's minds, so it's also a part of overthinking symptoms and nothing more.

How to cure it:

Overthinking symptoms are usually accompanied by scepticism. They are always looking for flaws in others, and they believe that everyone else is out to make their fun, are attempting to devise counter-strategies, but this is not the case. And this is just an illusion that Overthinkers have created in their minds, and they must break free from it. But how can they do it?

They can do it simply by living with the people about whom they had negative thoughts because overthinkers are mostly introverts. If you are an extrovert, there is a very low chance that you will become an over-thinker because you understand the environment, the world, and the people. So, when you live with people, you will realise that they are not what you imagined them to be. For instance, you might have a friend who occasionally jokes with you and other people, but whenever he does so with you, you kind of get the impression that, No, he jokes more on me and that he always views me as someone who is there for his jokes and doesn't care about you. Most overthinkers experience this, and they frequently attempt to sever their friendships. Since over thinkers tend to be introverts, their pals are the only human companions they have. Therefore, the more you isolate yourself from others, the more you will become suspicious about others and that's definitely not fine.

You can only overcome it by living with the people and not allowing these negative thoughts to overcome you; if you truly want to overcome overthinking, you must bury all negativity about the people you were having doubts about unless it is completely exposed that someone truly hates you. Otherwise, you're simply overthinking because you can't rely on your personal feelings about someone else. Unless you have direct evidence of it.

• Doesn't stay in present

Another common factor among overthinking symptoms is that their minds are mostly in the past or future, but they never try to live their present happily because they never focus on it and that's one of the reasons why they can't live happily after having overthinking because it's destroying their mind by creating false scenarios of future and there's no doubt that overthinkers are pessimists, so they usually overthink of a bad future, and they also point out only bad moments from the past.

How to cure it:

Overthinkers usually live in the past or the future; they worry a lot about their past and future, but they never try to think about their present, which is right in front of them and should be their primary concern, but overthinkers do not think this way. This is why they are always sad because when you think about your past, you are crying over things that will never happen again and are gone for good. They are gone now because you can change yourself, and you can move on. Change into a new person, but an over-thinker does not want to think this way, but you must.

There are others who are overthinkers with their minds stuck in the future, which is even worse than crying over your past because your future is something that hasn't happened yet, so you're crying for something that hasn't even happened. You're just making up your own illusions in your head that this will happen in the future or that, without you knowing it completely because you don't know the reality of what's going to happen next, what's going to happen tomorrow.

So, if you're filling and burdening your mind with thoughts of the future or the past, you're crying for nothing. It's pitiful to even think about the past and future when you don't care about the present. So, if you continue to treat your mind like that, you will destroy it, and you will destroy your life. It is better if you stick with your present, and when you stick with your present, you will realise that the true happiness and fun is in your present.

You know? You're reading this article and realise that you're not having those negative thoughts right now. But, while you are concerned that something bad will happen tomorrow, remember that whenever a problem occurs, it also disappears, and the present brings with it new hopes and possibilities. But you're always crying about your past, which makes your present even worse. So, don't sacrifice your present for the sake of your future or past.

How do you get rid of overthinking symptoms?

It's not going to be easy or quick to overcome overthinking symptoms because it takes a long time to get to the point where your mind is completely free of these overthinking symptoms. It depends on the person; for some, it's easy and quick, while for others, it's difficult and takes much longer than average.

My Analysis:

Anything that can be controlled can quickly become ineffective. The good news is that overthinking is caused by your mind, which you can control. It's only in your control if you focus completely on it with pure intention because it's necessary. Many overthinkers tried it, and it worked for them, so it will almost certainly work for you.

All you need to do is give yourself some time to wait, which you can do with the help of meditation. You can try to develop positive thoughts by simply thinking the opposite of what you are already thinking; this is the key factor and the key method for overcoming overthinking; simply think the opposite. You know that When we follow our intuition, it is possible that something opposite to what our intuition is saying will occur. Remember that there is always an opposite side to everything because, as humans, we cannot be perfect all of the time. Our assessments can be incorrect. So, be cautious, and controlling your mind is in your hands, though it is not easy.

Most people allow their minds to wander, which exacerbates their situation. Allow your mind to think freely, but only with your will. Otherwise, they will take control of you. That's why you'll have unpleasant thoughts most of the time, even if you don't want them; that's just how your mind works. Don't allow it to rebel against you.
